Bathroom Sheet Vinyl

Things have moved on from cold lino floors of the 60s and 70s. These days we have warm, cushioned vibrant bathrooms floor coverings and it is called cushioned sheet vinyl. View our range of bathroom 'lino' below (and don't be shy of using it in other rooms!)

Linoleum or Cushioned Vinyl?

Bathroom lino is usually requested due to it's resiliance, affordability and that it comes on a roll. However, cushioned vinyl is also sold on the roll (in large sheets), is resilient (it gives, yet it is firm) and it too is affordable.  These two types of resiliant bathroom flooring, while often claimed to be the same thing, are different. A vinyl for your bathroom is made of felt, fiberglass and dyes (and it is easier to maintain too!) but the old fashioned lino is made of linseed oil, tree resin, limestone and pigments. You can always give us a shout if you would like a bit more info on vinyl vs lino but these days, if you walk into most flooring shops and ask for a roll of linoleum you will be shown straight to the sheet vinyl.

Fitting your Bathroom Lino

Bathroom lino (and sheet vinyl) should be fitted onto a solid, clean and smooth sub-floor. If, like many homes, your bathroom has wooden floorboards this means you will need to lay plyboard (at least 6mm) over the wood floor. Our bathroom vinyls can then be loose laid, fully adhered or semi adhered using spray adhesive or a double sided tape. Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you would like further advice before or after purchasing. We are delighted to help with fitting advice as needed.
